Choose one and briefly explain why you picked it.
2015 Ford Mustang GT with Performance package:
2015 Chevy Camaro SS 1LE:
2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392:

Challenger because it’s not the other two.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 08:50 |

Why would you pick it? Is it because of the bigger interior? Better appearance? What?

challenger hellcat only! (manual)

Mustang because of its new-found handling prowess and its glorious new interior

The Fusion coupe.

1LE because that car is a blast to drive! It handles like a dream!

Slight bias here.

It’s one of the only violently ‘Murican cars that doesn’t annoy me. I’m not a pony car fan in general. Besides, the Challenger is really more of a big, brutish grand tourer at this point, anyway. Though it’s hard to justify the SRT 392 when the Hellcat exists.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:04 |

Challenger. I hate the Camaro, and the Mustang is ok but not my favorite. I’ve loved the Challenger since it was introduced.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:13 |

Challenger, it’s the only one that looks quite rather nice. But I’d quite like a Mustang Ecoboost though, because I like the idea of that engine in that car.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:15 |
|
Speaking of new vehicles, the SRT 392 is $15k cheaper than the Hellcat and I’m sure its no slouch performance wise.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:16 |

I get what your saying. Also, for as cool as the Hellcat is, I would probably never buy one because there’s nowhere around here for me to unleash all that power. The SRT 392 would probably be the most power I’d go for with the Challenger/Charger.

I’m sure the EcoBoost is an alright little engine but Ford is dumb for charging a premium for it over the V6 model. They should have just made it the base engine and got rid of the V6 seeing as they’re both aimed at the same crowd.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:20 |

It does handle pretty good in the new gen, but interior? Still cheap as can be.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:20 |

Does handle surprisingly well!

I think you mean Catfish coupe. See the resemblance?
Literally the first thing I think of every time I see a new ‘Stang out driving.

Hey there are no wrong choices here.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:23 |

Would you want to drive 707hp everyday in stop-and-go traffic?
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:24 |
|
True, but I’m looking at this from a Norwegian point of view, the EcoBoost IS the base model here ;) Want a V6? Tough luck, you ain’t getting one. The EcoBoost is about half the price of the GT version, it’s not really a cheap car anyway.. but the GT is insanely expensive.

my commute to work is 25 minutes walking. (2.5km) , so i would rarely drive to to work , and if i did i have a grand total of 2 roundabouts , 1 set of traffic lights to contend with , plus the added bonus of having very few cars as well.
the only downside to the Challenger is no factory right hand drive.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:28 |
|
Ah, so the car would simply be for going out and having fun, that makes more sense now.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:29 |

It might not be Mercedes on the inside, but it’s miles ahead of the competiton
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:30 |
|
The GT is a beast of a car though ;p
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:31 |
|
Correction, it’s miles better than the Camaro. The Challenger interior shits on the Mustang.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:31 |
|
yup! 8)
buying one in the US or Canada , plus the cost of shipping to Australia , plus import fees/charges , then the cost of conversion (roughly AUD$50k) makes it one exspensive car , and then you have to gamble on the conversion shop doing a good job too.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:32 |

It’s pushing nearly 500hp, it's definitely got some power to it and it has almost all the same components of the Hellcat with the exception of the engine and a few mechanical components.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:33 |
|
Looks nothing like a Camaro.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:34 |
|
Sure, but not USD 60k more beast than an Ecoboost (I kinda exaggerated a bit when I said half the price, the truth is that the EcoBoost is about 100k and the GT 160k).
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:38 |
|
Jesus that’s a huge price gap! Here the EcoBoost starts at $25,300 and the GT starts at $32,300
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:39 |
|
For the amount of work, I'd just buy something else.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:42 |
|
I know.. ;) Downside to the rather steep prices here is that I can’t afford new cars.. the positive thing is that I’ve owned a whole heap of old and strange cars I’d never have bought if cars were cheap here :P
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:43 |

yes we have Holden & Ford , but the Germans are too dear here in Oz , Holden & Ford are common as and no coupes , but we have utes as compensation in some ways , but i’ve always fancied a Challenger , always liked them from when they were released.
they just look fantastic.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:47 |

Challenger. It’s the best looking, and that’s what these cars are about at this point. I’m sure they all accelerate well in a straight line and make lots of noise and so forth.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:51 |
|
SRT for me. The mustang is sterile and the camaro is mostly ugly. Plus its the highest price so I could resell it for an Elise.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:56 |
|
I’d take the 1LE.
The Challenger is huge.
The Mustang has no sunroof, and costs $2k more than a Camaro 2SS 1LE with the same equipment. Or you can bump the Camaro up to the same price by adding the sunroof and performance exhaust, neither of which is available on the Mustang.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:59 |

1LE.
Power and handling, I love LS engines. It looks the best in my opinion. And while I have nothing at all against Ford or Dodge. Ill pick the GM everytime.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 10:00 |

Smart thinking. That dual-mode exhaust does sound damn good.
Too bad the mustang didn't keep the glass roof option for the new gen.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 10:00 |

I've always thought the Camaro looks rather good. They got rid of visibility to get there but it is handsome.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 10:01 |

Mustang, lightest and best looking out of the 3
![]() 05/02/2015 at 10:08 |
|
I think the Camaro looks the best as well!
![]() 05/02/2015 at 10:09 |

Let's see if it can hold the title for being lightest when the new Camaro comes out. I think Ford should be pretty worried tbh.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 10:21 |

Probably the Challenger, I already have a Mustang. Plus the Challenger is more traditional and definitely roomy and comfortable.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 11:48 |

Mustang cause the other two suck donkey bawls...

I have a minor quibble with your query: An SRT 392 is not the proper equivalent to a Mustang GT or Camaro SS. That’d be a Challenger R/T with whatever stage scat pack, or bump them all up to a Camaro ZL1 and Boss 302.
But anywho, I actually made this decision back in February and ordered the Camaro. It was the best bang for the buck performance and option -wise, and I love the look of the 1LE especially in Bright Yellow. I drove a Challenger R/T for a week and the thing was an effin whale. Yes, even more so than the Camaro. I plan to track this car, and not just in a straight line, so Challenger was out. The Mustang would’ve ran me nearly 45k for the options I wanted, and I’m not a huge fan of the new front end or their Triple Yellow paint. Also, the GT performance pack doesn’t stack up to the 1LE/ZL1 goodies, and LS everything. I don’t care about back seats so that wasn’t a factor either.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 15:05 |

Depends on color availability. Can I get purple or orange? Challenger. Else? Camaro.
The Mustang can’t hold a candle to the Camaro’s performance prowess and I find the Mustang to be cheaper and less comfortable inside.
FCA is a big buzzkill for removing the purple and orange options.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 15:42 |

SS. As much as the visibility sucks, Black on White would be my color choice just like the picture, and all I’ve heard are raving reviews for the 1LE. The mustang (especially in person and in red) looks as bad as the Cobra R with bland never ending plastic galore. It looks numb. And the Chally is too heavy and can’t handle.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 15:53 |
|
The reason I chose the GT and SS is because the Boss 302 are Zl1 are 1000x better performing than the 392. They’re both way faster, have better handling, etc.
The ZL1 actually competes with the Hellcat despite having almost 130hp less. The Boss 302 being what it is doesn’t quite compete with the Challenger at all, it’s only real competitor is the Z/28.
I agree with the rest of your comment though, the performance pack on the GT only includes a couple small upgrades where the 1LE gives you parts off the ZL1.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 15:55 |

The new Mustang doesn’t do anything for me, the previous gen was much better imo. There are a lot of positive reviews on the Camaro with visibility and interior quality being the only real complaints.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 16:00 |

What I find funny is that the dated 2015 Camaro SS 1LE is still faster on the track than the brand new 2015 Mustang GT with performance pack.
Also, I didn't know they got rid of purple and orange options. Least they have lime green.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 16:19 |

The Hellcat is just pure, unabashed comedy. It’s wildly impractical and has no place in this world, and that’s why I like it. It’s stupid and incredibly superfluous and I love that.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 16:21 |
|
Well when you put it like that, I agree!
![]() 05/02/2015 at 19:35 |

Mustang. Why? Well the employee discount I would get on one would definitely sway my opinion. Plus I’m a Ford guy, I’m a Mustang guy, and I think it’s the best looking of the three by far. If I didn’t go with the Stang, I’d go with the Mopar because I’m also a Mopar fan.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 20:14 |

I respect your opinion but come on, are you saying that you could tell me, with a straight face, that the new Mustang looks good?
I like Mustangs but the new one is just horrible looking.
![]() 05/02/2015 at 22:04 |

Yes, I could. The Chally and Camaro are both great looking cars but I just prefer the Mustang.
